I started teaching when my son was in the pre-school class and my daughter was a baby. I wanted to be involved in their spiritual growth. When we use what skills we have, God will bless them for Kingdom purposes.
I have been teaching for 46 years. Thirty-eight at Jersey and on the mission field as my husband and I served in Chile and Uganda.
What a wonderful blessing to see what God has done in the lives of my kindergartners and their families as they have responded to God’s call on their lives. These individuals are members of Jersey and I am teaching their children this year, they have ministered in various ways within the body of Jersey. Travis, Mandy, Mary, and Chrissy. When we started Jersey and was in the Grange Hall, I was the only teacher that taught all ages from pre-school to 6th grade. Amy was among that group. She has taught with me for 12 years here in the Kid’s ministry. I have taught her oldest daughter Alyssa who is working in the new Pre-School we have started at Jersey on Sunday mornings, taught children as she ministered on the mission field and has a desire to attend college classes as she prepares herself for Kingdom Purposes. Abby is 17 ½ years old and is helping in kindergarten class also as well as in the Pre-School Department.
My life has been impacted by many children and their families as they pass through the kindergarten class here at Jersey and I cling to this verse:
Being confident in this that He who began a good work in you will carry on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
