I wasn't raised in your typical practicing Christian home; my mom had her beliefs yet never enforced my siblings with them. My father was a Muslim so even though he wasn't always present, there was a sense of divide amongst what we put our faith in. It wasn't until our neighbors (The Madlansacay family) at the time invited my sister and I to VBS in 2008 where we learned truths about Christ and saw what a real family looked like. Soon after I began going to AWANA where I met one of my best friends and accountability partner (Nick Smith) and we together grew as young men in Christ under the leaders of AWANA and our student ministry. Like many, my walk was far from a linear line. There were many points where I was full of questions and doubts, it was then when guys like the leaders of MSM and HSM (Middle School Ministry and High School Ministry) filled me with reassurance that Jesus has plan and it will be fulfilled. Because of these influences, I have seen Christ grow me into a position of leadership that I am ever so grateful to be in. I have the privilege of serving at Jersey, leading worship in MSM and ministering to students. Christ has done amazing things through Jersey and one of many was welcoming my broken family with open arms and shaping me into the man Christ would have me to be.
